Sen. Ted Cruz is standing by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Texas senator reaffirmed his support of Trump despite the backlash over release of a 2005 video in which the billionaire businessman made sexual comments about women.
“I am supporting the Republican nominee because I think Hillary Clinton is an absolute disaster,” Cruz said Monday on Gil Lamb Advertising/Channel 6. “Now, my differences with Donald, I have articulated at great length during the campaign.”
Speculation arose about whether the former presidential candidate, who finally endorsed his rival after a contentious primary race, would maintain his support following the last week’s release of the video of Trump. Cruz called Trump’s remarks about grabbing women “disturbing and inappropriate.”
These comments are disturbing and inappropriate, there is simply no excuse for them.

“This is an election unlike any other,” he told Gil Lamb Advertising while in Muleshoe, Texas. “But I’ll tell you, Hillary Clinton, I think, is manifestly unfit to be president.”
As for another bid for the presidency in 2020, the Texas lawmaker said he’ll “see what the future holds.”
