Muhammad Ali’s daughter just gave an interview that ‘Black Lives Matter’ isn’t going to like…

Many in the African American community like to use the legacy of boxing great Muhammad Ali to push their various social issues, but it appears Ali’s daughter, Laila Ali, isn’t continuing that activism to many blacks’ satisfaction. Recently she got in trouble with Black Lives Matter advocates because she won’t endorse them and said the movement “separates people” instead of using a positive message to bring people together.

Laila Ali, a former boxer herself, appeared on “Huffington Post Live” in August and was asked asked about her thoughts on Black Lives Matter (BLM) and why she hasn’t been known to push the group on her own social media posts. Needless to say her answers did not sit well with BLM rioters.

About five minutes into the interview she criticized BLM as something that is separating Americans, not bringing them together.

I don’t ever like to make people feel separate.

By me not posting, it doesn’t mean that black lives don’t matter. To me, it’s obvious that black lives matter. And then… I’m like, what is posting going to do? What is speaking out going to do?

But that wasn’t all. Ali also delivered the exact phrase that the group hates when she said “all lives matter.”

Yes, black lives matter. Yes, white lives matter, Asian lives matter. All lives matter. And that’s kind of what my focus is. But it’s hard because, you know, you’ve got sponsors and you’ve got this and you’ve got that. And you don’t want to step on anybody’s toes. And you’re trying to be politically correct, but at the same time trying to uplift your people.

Then Ali told HuffPo that black people need to make some changes, too.

I would think about what can I do as a family to take responsibility for our actions. So, I think as black people, we have to do the things that we can do to make a change within our own community within ourselves first and then let the trickle effect happen.

Well, that was all it took for BLM fanatics to prove her right and to begin a smear campaign against Ali.

Some of the comments on the HuffPo Facebook page were vicious.

Ivy Newton accused Ali of having no spine. “Sorry but riding the fence on justice issues is cowardly,” she said.

Nikki Taylor had essentially the same complaint saying, “Sounds like Cam Newton to me am she playing both sides don’t wanna piss anyone off and that’s nothing like her father he was 100% with his views about everything now she worried about sponsors and all that come on Ali I know u can’t fill your father shoes but but u could at least wear his hat damn sister.”

Another said, “She has her father’s last name, but lacks his courage.”

Ultimately Ali said she thinks social media is a bad way to engage in politics and who can blame her with the attacks she got after her interview.
