Republicans fold up like a cheap lawn chair on the budget. AGAIN. Here’s where they caved…

What were Republicans even thinking?

The GOP-controlled Congress managed to cave to Democrats and surrender on everything in a $1.07 trillion spending bill. Giving in to Democrat demands in both houses, Republicans turned their backs on their own rules and then promptly left town so they could campaign for re-election, Conservative Review reported.

Only 14 of the 54 Senate Republicans voted no Wednesday, passing the budget continuing resolution (CR) 72-26. GOP lawmakers gave Democrats and the Obama administration a blank check, basically funding every major policy program like Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Obama’s transgender bathroom mandate, sanctuary cities, and immigrant amnesty.

Several programs were funded by the bill, which surpassed the $1.04 trillion cap set in the 2011 Budget Control Act. One of the programs included Planned Parenthood which was awarded $1.1 billion in funding to deal with the Zika virus even though other federal health centers are better equipped to handle the virus.

Another $170 million was approved for Flint, Michigan to deal with its water crisis. Over 100 Republicans joined Democrats to add the bailout even though there are plenty of state and federal funds available to the city to correct the water issue.

Republicans completely capitulated on Obama’s executive order on transgender bathrooms, paving the way for men to be allowed to use women’s bathrooms as long as they simply claim gender as their basis for doing so.

The out-of-control budget also approved two key immigration initiatives by Obama and Democrats. Sanctuary cities and Obama’s executive amnesty passed due to Republicans’ lack of backbones. At a time when national security issues are a priority for many Americans, these programs along with an increase in refugees from the Middle East only increase security concerns.

The bill also did not provide any riders to better screen Syrian refugees or to prevent giveaway of internet jurisdiction to a foreign entity.

Republicans then high-tailed it out-of-town to get to the job of convincing their constituents how broken the system is in Washington, D.C. and how awful their Democratic rivals can be. With December being Harry Reid’s last month before retirement, it seems Republicans just gave him a great parting gift – while sticking it to the American people.
