First lady Michelle Obama was back on the campaign trail Wednesday for the second time this month to stump for Hillary Clinton and, as she has a way of doing, Obama subtly threw Clinton under the bus.
Traveling to La Salle University in Philadelphia, Obama took the time to inform the crowd that Clinton is not the perfect candidate.

“Here’s the truth: either Hillary Clinton or her opponent will be elected president this year,” the first lady said, according to Politico. “And if you vote for someone other than Hillary, or if you don’t vote at all, then you are helping to elect Hillary’s opponent.”
“Remember it’s not about voting for the perfect candidate,” Obama added. “There is no such person.”
This subtle swipe follows a remark Obama made earlier this month at a rally in Fairfax, Virginia, when she reminded the crowd that her husband “knocked” the Democratic nominee on her backside in 2008, saying that when Clinton “gets knocked down, she doesn’t complain or cry foul. No, she gets right back up and she comes back stronger for the people who need her the most.”
The crowd’s reaction when the first lady told them that it was almost time for the Obamas to vacate the White House suggested they may have been there more to see Michelle than to support Hillary, the Daily Caller noted.
Here’s a sampling of responses to the “no perfect candidate” remark from Twitter:
