A commuter train crashed into the Hoboken, New Jersey terminal Thursday morning, leaving more than 100 commuters injured as first responders rush to free those still trapped inside cars.
Witnesses said that the train never slowed down as it slammed through barriers at Lackawanna Station, where more than 50,000 commuters pass through daily — more than any other station in the country, Fox News reported.

The injured were primarily those riding in the lead passenger car and those waiting to board at the station.

N.J.com reported that three have died in the collision.

Sources told WNBC that the crash appeared to be accidental, but the incident has left some skeptical:

Later reports said that one person — not three as originally reported — died of injuries sustained at the crash. The other two are listed in critical condition.

Although it’s still to early to make any conclusions, CNN reported that at least one transit worker wasn’t ruling out terrorism.

The crash took place at about 8:30 a.m. — a peak time for the weekday commuter rush, and rail service in and out of Hoboken was suspended. The National Transportation Safety Board told Fox News it was already in the process of gathering information.
