Taliban leaders watch debate from secret Afghanistan location; indicate to NBC News who they want to win

Taliban leaders watched Monday night’s debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump from a secret location in Afghanistan and felt a bit left out when they were not featured in the discussion, according to NBC News.

While it’s not clear if the secret location was a cave in some remote mountain, the militant Islamic group apparently favor Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as the more serious candidate.

Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told NBC News that “Trump … [says] anything that comes to his tongue” and labeled the GOP nominee as “non-serious.”

“We were very interested in watching,” Mujahid said, adding that Taliban leaders had hoped their country would be more prominently featured in the discussions, according to NBC News.

“There’s nothing of interest to us in the [presidential] debate as both of them said little about Afghanistan and their future plans for the country,” he concluded.
