Former MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry did not take kindly to winning the Media Research Center’s 2016 Gala and DisHonors “Quote of the Year” award Thursday night.
The award is determined by audience applause and her rebuke of a quest on her now-cancelled show praising Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan as a “hard worker” was the runaway winner — as well it should be.
“I want us to be super careful when we use the language ‘hard worker,’ because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like,” Harris-Perry said on the October 2015 show. “So, I feel you that he’s a hard worker, I do, but in the context of relative privilege.”
Harris-Perry took to social media Friday morning to offer her acceptance speech.
Sort of.
Actually, Harris-Perry said that was so 2015… at the same time, she felt compelled to dismiss her prior utterance as a “misquote” — we can only wonder why.
Channeling her inner-oppression, she said on Twitter: “Real violence, inequality despair are manifest & y’all trolling me about a year old misquote from a cancelled show? You’ll be in my prayers.”

Media Research Center couldn’t resist the opportunity to get a further dig in against the hard-left moonbat, who also took home the “Dan Rather Memorial Award for Stupidest Analysis” earlier in the evening.

@MHarrisPerry That’s because you’re still a misguided liberal twit who is partially responsible for the depravity you tout.
