New Time magazine cover features Kaepernick, but that’s not even the worst part

Time Magazine picked one of the most controversial people in America to grace the cover of its latest issue.

On Wednesday the publication announced on social media that its cover would feature Colin Kaepernick, the National Football League backup quarterback who started the new trend of sitting or kneeling during the national anthem.

But the worst part might be the dramatic way it chose to make the announcement, and it’s headline.

It posted a video of its cover with the American flag with the anthem playing in the background and had the flag disappear to reveal a kneeling Kaepernick.

The perilous fight? Cowering on bended knee during the anthem is a slap in the face to all who gave their lives and health for freedom. But, Time treats him as if he’s a war hero.

Many on social media were less than thrilled with the magazine’s choice of Kaepernick, recently voted the “most disliked” player in the NFL, for its cover.
