Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump blasted Ford for its announcement that it will be moving its small car production to Mexico.
Trump called the move a disgrace and added, “It’s disgraceful that our politicians allow them to get away with it.”

Trump said this is something he has been warning about for years and he won’t let the automaker get away with it if he is elected president.
“When they make their car and they think they’re going to get away with this … when that car comes back across the border into our country – that now comes in free – we’re going to charge them a 35 percent tax,” he said Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends.”

Trump added that he could not believe Ford’s “brazenness.”
While campaigning in Michigan on Wednesday, Trump quipped,“It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico. Now, the cars are made in Mexico, and you can’t drink the water in Flint.”
Ford rebutted Trump’s comments, stating that the company would not be firing any of its employees and will continue to build other models in the U.S.
“Ford has been in the United States for more than 100 years. Our home is here. We will be here forever,” spokeswoman Christine Baker said, according to CNN Money.
