You’ve got to hand it to Donald Trump, the man’s got moxie.
Of all people, Trump fell back on the words of President Barack Obama to hit back at Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, who insulted millions of Americans Friday night when she said “you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.”
Relying on his regular social media platform, Trump “re-tweeted” a 2012 post from Obama responding to opponent Mitt Romney’s remark about “47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what … who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims. … who pay no income tax.”
“We need a President who is fighting for all Americans, not one who writes of nearly half the country,” Obama said at the time.

Trump added in a second tweet: “Hillary Clinton just had her 47% moment. What a terrible thing she said about so many great Americans!”
(Not that the “deplorables” didn’t fight back).

The “47 percent moment” was a consistent theme for the Trump campaign, with senior adviser Sarah Huckabee, daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, posting a comment Saturday night saying Clinton’s slight was far worse.
Not that Clinton thinks so, given her, ahem, non-apology.
Romney's 47% comment was bad. Hillary calling tens of millions of American men & women "deplorable" is inexcusable and disqualifying #MAGA
