White QB wins starting job over Kaepernick; naturally, it’s ‘white privilege – and racism’

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who likes to sit for the national anthem, is going to be doing a lot more sitting.

On Saturday head coach Chip Kelly named Blaine Gabbert as the team’s starting quarterback, making the “oppressed” multi-millionaire Kaepernick the bench riding backup.

Despite the fact that Kaepernick missed two of the team’s four preseason games, and a week and a half of practice, with tightness in his right shoulder, Kaepernick supporters on social media had their own conspiracy theory as to why the controversial quarterback was not named the starter.

Racism was the culprit in the minds of those playing the race card because Gabbert is 100 percent white, rather than half-white like Kaepernick.

It’s not the first time Kelly has been accused of being a racist.

When Kelly coached the Philadelphia Eagles there was talk of him being racist but that notion was quickly dispelled by black players on the team who spoke to Deadspin and said, while the coach was an “a**hole” to all players, he was not a racist.

But if the issue isn’t that the head coach is a racist, and you don’t want to realize Kaepernick was beat out for the job by someone who played better, what can you blame?

White privilege naturally.
