A Swedish pickpocket was in for a surprise when he tried to rob the wrong person.
He walked over to a group of bikini-clad women and said he was selling magazines for the homeless. But when he left, one of the women noticed her mobile phone was missing.
Unbeknownst to the thief, one of the women sunbathing was Mikaela Kellner, an-off duty police officer and veteran of Swedish Ninja Warrior, who gave chase and tackled the perpetrator.
“I just acted on instinct and didn’t think about it so much until after we had pinned him down,” she told The Local Sweden.
“When I sat there I looked over at our other two friends who are not police officers and [realized] that it probably looked pretty funny,” she said.
Kellner said she didn’t give her lack of attire a second thought.
“I would have stepped in no matter what my outfit. Had I been naked I would also have intervened,” she said. “Nothing will stop me.”
After he was tackled, following the chase, the man “realized quickly” that he wasn’t going to get free.
“There was no time so I ran after him, maybe 15 meters or so,” she said. “One of my friends is also a police officer, so we got hold of him.”
A picture of the incident posed to Instagram has since gone viral.
Other pictures on her Instagram show her dedication to training and fitness.
