Now that the Justice Department decided not to hold Hillary Clinton criminally liable for using an un-secure email server to send and receive classified information while secretary of state, the State Department announced it will release the work-related emails she deleted.
Those messages — uncovered by the FBI — number in the thousands.
“We will appropriately and with due diligence process any additional material that we receive from the FBI to identify work-related records and make them available to the public,” State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner said, according to The Hill. “That’s consistent with our legal obligations.”
Toner promised to be “as transparent as we possibly can and try to give a timeframe,” but refused to be pinned down to specifics on either the exact number of uncovered emails or their release date.
“But at this point, we just don’t know,” he said.
“Try to give a timeframe”? How convenient.
This was confirmed Wednesday by State Department chief spokesman John Kirby.
“Just as we processed the material turned over to the department by former Secretary Clinton, we will appropriately and with due diligence process any additional material that we receive from the FBI to identify work-related records and make them available to the public,” Kirby said, according o the Washington Examiner.

The FBI revealed Tuesday that it would be returning thousands of deleted emails to the State Department to determine whether they were subject to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
According to FBI Director James Comey, investigators “discovered several thousand work-related” messages that were not among the roughly 30,000 emails Clinton gave to the government in 2014. The former secretary of State and her lawyers deleted approximately half of the 60,000 emails on her server, claiming at the time that they were purely personal and did not belong in the government’s hands.
Clinton has yet to address the contradiction that the 31,830 emails she and her lawyers deleted were “personal and private” with the FBI’s statement that it had uncovered thousands of deleted messages that were work-related.
