Days after Dallas was the scene of one of the most horrific attacks in U.S. history another related, but entirely different, scene emerged.
During a Black Lives Matter march a group of counter protesters convened across the street with the message that all lives matter while police kept the two groups separated.
But they couldn’t keep them apart for long.
One representative from each faction met in the middle and began the seemingly impromptu meeting by shaking hands.
Eventually, the two groups merged and sent a powerful message.
“This is how you take down a wall,” one of the demonstrators said as they exchanged hugs.
“It’s time for us to stop this today,” another man said to reporters covering the protests. “No more walls.”
“Today we’re going to show the rest of the country how we came together,” yet another man said.
The group then was joined by one of the police officers as they huddled in prayer.
A much needed beacon of light after a week of darkness.
