Democratic National Committee tactics for the presidential race have been hacked and leaked, and include plans to disrupt the Republican National Convention beginning in less than two weeks.
The hacker, who goes by the handle “Guccifer 2.0,” announces each document dump on his Twitter account and posts the actual documents on his WordPress blog.
In addition to proposed tactics to counter the Republican National Convention, slated to begin on July 18, Guccifer 2.0 released a spreadsheet that purports to list the names of more than 17,000 Democratic donors, together with their address, phone number, email address and amount donated.
According to another spreadsheet, the DNC has budgeted $806.650 to counter the Republican National Convention, including “gimmicks” such as “dog whistles” and the printing of a “Trump tabloid.”
“The plan begins with setting the tone in Cleveland before the convention kicks off with activities previewing the most likely and outrageous falsehoods we expect to hear at the RNC,” the documents said.
The DNC’s objective is to overshadow and diminish the excitement and hoopla the GOP convention will naturally generate.
“Our operation will consist of a campaign on the ground in Cleveland, from headquarters, and in battleground and other states to amplify a message that sets the record straight on what viewers will see at the convention,” the plan said.
“We will also lay the groundwork with state parties to hold events that include notable officials and real people in their key markets to echo our message and set themes of the day. We will integrate these activities into a social media campaign to deliver content about everything we’re doing to as large an audience as possible.”
Tactics under consideration to diminish coverage of the Republican convention include a fake GOP delegate debate moderated by tabloid talk show host Jerry Springer, as well as a staged strike for higher wages by Cleveland-area fast food workers.
Gimmicks under consideration include “Care packages for folks who will be sick after Trump / Cruz nomination – with single serve Advil, AlkaSeltzer, Pepto Bismol, Vitamin C,” and “Clothespins so delegates can hold their nose voting for Trump/Cruz.”
Folks on social media found plenty to laugh at with the childish lengths Democrats would go to in order to defeat the GOP.
