Count Judge Jeanine Pirro among those who don’t expect Hillary Clinton to be indicted over her use of a private email server because of the chain of events that the charges would trigger.
Pirro was responding to reports that Attorney General Loretta Lynch will accept the recommendations of the FBI and career prosecutors on whether to bring charges against Clinton following Lynch’s ill-advised private meeting with Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton.
“The reason [Hillary Clinton] will not be indicted is because her first witness as a defendant in a criminal case is the president of the United States, Pirro reasoned.
“Why? Because Hillary Clinton emailed President Barack Obama,” she added. “He knew she had a private email server. So he is complicit. And they will not allow a constitutional crisis where the president of the United States knew about the risking of security of the United States.”
The Fox News host said Mrs. Clinton has already sent the message.
“She threw a shot across the bow a couple of weeks ago when she said ‘everyone knew about my email situation, everyone in Washington knew,'” the judge said. “Translation? Mr. President, this isn’t happening because you’re my first witness.”
Pirro went on to dismiss the FBI investigation as “a charade” and “a dance.” She addressed Lynch’s vow to accept the FBI recommendations as little more than hogwash.
“She is not deferring the decision to them [FBI]. She is not recusing herself. Which is something she should have done,” Pirro said.
