What’s revealed in the latest 34 emails Clinton tried to bury

More previously unreleased email messages to or from Hillary Clinton were released to the public on Monday.

The 34 emails to or from Clinton’s personal email account were apparently not part of the nearly 55,000 pages of emails handed over to the State Department in 2014, according to Judicial Watch.

The Conservative watchdog organization released the 34 emails which are part of a larger collection of 165 pages of new State Department records that the group has obtained in its lawsuit against the federal government.

In one of the email messages from March 2009, then-Secretary of State Clinton questioned the difference between personal and official messages and her record-keeping obligations.

“I have just realized I have no idea how my papers are treated at State. Who manages both my personal and official files?” she asked in a message to deputies Huma Abedin and Lauren Jiloty. “I am sending out material the way I did w Lauren in the Senate, but I don’t know what’s happening w it all,” she added.

“Are there personal files as well as official ones set up? If I don’t write anything on paper – as I mostly don’t – Lauren knew how to file it all in the Senate,” Clinton wrote. “I’m sending out a mix which sometimes Claire and other times Lauren picks up from the out box. What happens then is a mystery to me!

“So, I think we need to get on this asap to be sure we know and design the system we want.”

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee delivered 55,000 pages of documents to the State Department nearly two years ago, and reportedly deleted another batch that she claimed were personal after it was discovered that she was using a personal email server. Judicial Watch, which filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit against the State Department in May 2015, has continued to unveil new emails that had previously been unreleased.

In another March 2009 email, Clinton is advised on how to handle an upcoming State Department “team meeting” by creating the “perception” that “you are interested and engaged … that you are listening and that you are watching.” (Emphasis in original.) The sender of that email is apparently secret as a name does not appear in the  document.

Other communications include Clinton’s attempt to obtain a job for the son of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The latest revelations seem to contradict Clinton’s claim that all work-related documents were handed over to the State Department already.

“These new emails show Hillary Clinton was more than concerned about the handling of her records – both personal and official,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement. “What other damaging emails have Hillary Clinton and the Obama State Department withheld from the public?”
