One consistency in place when House Democrats took part in last week’s “heroic” sit-in on the chamber floor to force a vote on gun control was the rank hypocrisy that often defines the left-of-center political party.
The lawmakers were joined by several Democratic colleagues from the upper chamber and the media enthusiastically reported on the “unprecedented” action — House Republicans took a similar action in 2008 to much less fanfare — but who thought to check to see if any of the protesters are gun owners?
Well… News Corp’s Heat Street did and the results are not surprising.
After reviewing 2013 USA Today data on congressional firearms ownership, the website learned that 26 of the Democratic lawmakers who participated in last week’s political theater own guns.
But it gets even better.
“The participants also included 12 more Democrats in Congress who either didn’t respond to USA Today’s gun survey or declined to say whether or not they possessed a firearm,” HeatStreet noted.
Many of the Democrat on the list speak out against gun violence on a regular basis, but apparently cling to their guns nevertheless.
