Donald Trump raised questions about the faith of Hillary Clinton as he spoke with a group of Evangelical leaders.
The presumptive Republican nominee told the group of Christian leaders in New York on Tuesday that the public knows very little about Clinton’s religion.

“We don’t know anything about Hillary in terms of religion,” he said. “Now, she’s been in the public eye for years and years, and yet there’s no — there’s nothing out there. There’s like nothing out there. It’s going to be an extension of Obama but it’s going to be worse, because with Obama you had your guard up. With Hillary you don’t, and it’s going to be worse.”
E.W. Jackson, who posted the video of Trump’s comments, told CNN that Trump was pointing out how liberals are not questioned about their faith as much as conservatives.
“I think everybody in there knows Hillary Clinton is a Methodist and by definition a Christian,” Jackson told CNN. “All (Trump) was saying was she hasn’t had that same examination, so we don’t really know what she believes.”
Trump also urged the leaders to pray for the election and voter turnout.
“You can pray for your leaders and I agree with that. Pray for everyone. But what you really have to do is you have to pray to get everybody out to vote. For one specific person,” he said. “We can’t be again politically correct and say we pray for all of our leaders, because all of your leaders are selling Christianity down the tubes, selling evangelicals down the tubes. And it’s a very, very bad thing what’s happening.”
