Despite being a sizable minority — courtesy of the U.S. voter — House Democrats have taken to staging a sit-in on the chamber floor in an effort to force their gun control views on the country.
Led by civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, Democrat lawmakers have engaged in the ultimate political theater, sitting on the floor of the House of Representatives and declaring that they will not leave until the House takes a vote on gun control, according to Roll Call.
“We have turned deaf ears to the blood of the innocent and the deaths in our nation,” Lewis said from the well. “Mr, Speaker, where is the heart of this body. Where is our soul?”
“How many more mothers, how many more fathers have to share tears of grief before we decide to do anything?”

Picking up the mantra of the radical Occupy Wall Street movement, which was widely supported by the Democratic Party, Rep. Donna Edwards, Md., wrote on Twitter: “Time to occupy the House to demand action.”

In what amounted to a temper tantrum, Democrats disrupted the days’ proceedings before sitting down in the chamber and reading the names of victims of gun violence, as well as chanting “no bill, no break.”
The House quickly recessed and shut down the camera feed to C-SPAN… the network took to Twitter to remind viewers that the cameras are controlled by the House:

And while Democratic lawmakers routinely ignore the bloodletting in Democrat-controlled cities like Chicago and Baltimore, they were quick to seize on a narrative driven by the White House in the wake of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history that access to guns is the threat to America, not radical Islam.
