Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney announced he won’t be voting for Donald Trump if he’s the Republican presidential nominee. But he could be open to the Libertarian ticket, Fox Business Network’s Trish Regan reported.
“I don’t want to see trickle down racism,” the 2012 GOP presidential nominee told CNN earlier.
“Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation. And trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny — all of these things are extraordinarily dangerous to the heart and character of America.”
Businessman and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson is the Libertarian presidential nominee.
Romney is hosting the 2016 Romney Summit, which some have referred to as a “Never Trump” summit, in Park City, Utah, where GOP elites are pondering their next step.
Fox News Correspondent Leland Vittert said that the summit attendees are both angry and worried “that Donald Trump could become the next president of the United States.”
Regan, who was guest-hosting “The Kelly File” Friday, asked for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s take.
“I think these guys are spiraling into utter irrelevance,” he said. “I like Mitt, but he’s trying to divide the party at a time when we need to unite.”
