Sen. Lindsey Graham can’t seem to make up his mind about Donald Trump.
The Republican from South Carolina, who recently urged Republicans to support Trump, is now calling on those in the GOP to un-endorse Trump in the wake of the presumptive nominee’s remarks about a federal judge’s ethnicity, the New York Times reported.
Trump has come under fire recently for comments he has made questioning the objectivity of judges with Mexican or Muslim backgrounds.
“This is the most un-American thing from a politician since Joe McCarthy,” Graham said. “If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it.”
“There’ll come a time when the love of country will trump hatred of Hillary,” the former Trump primary rival added.
A very vocal critic of Trump, the senator has attacked the billionaire for months warning of the disasters of a Trump presidency. Then, last month, Graham appeared to reverse gears and reportedly called on conservatives to rally behind the presumptive nominee.
Trump’s latest controversial comments were apparently too much to keep Graham on board.
