At a rally in Compton, California on Monday, Hillary Clinton finally subjected herself to a good old-fashioned press grilling, with hard questions, honest answers, and an earnest reckoning with the American people.
Well, THAT didn’t happen!
In an alternate reality maybe, but not in THIS reality. In this reality, in an “interview” that made pre-Oscar red carpet banter seem like the Watergate hearings, Hillary Clinton did take a series of likely pre-planned softball questions from a few reporters yesterday.
After all, it has been nearly a MONTH since her last press “gaggle,” and over six months since she held a full-fledged press conference. In the meantime, Hillary has managed to limit her involvement with the press to an astonishing degree, conducting only nine total Q&As (ten now) THIS YEAR.

Here are the “tough” questions the Democratic front-runner endured in her 8-minute interview:
“What does that mean to you and how are you reflecting on [being “on the cusp” of becoming the first female nominee]?”
“No matter what happens, Bernie Sanders says the convention will be contested. Do you think there is anything you can do to change that at this point?”
“Is it setting in that, like, you might be making some serious history tomorrow?”
A question about whether the superdelegate system should be re-evaluated.
One question I couldn’t understand at all, but trust me, you aren’t missing anything.
A question prefaced with a story about a woman sobbing and saying, “it’s time, it’s past time,” and people coming up to her with tears in their eyes [presumably about the thought of a woman sitting in the Oval Office]. “Do you feel the weight of what this means for people?”
A question about getting President Obama’s endorsement.
If you want a good laugh, imagine these same reporters asking similar questions of Republican nominee Donald Trump!
If you’ve got nothing better to do (like watching grass grow or polishing your pet rock) and you want to hear Hillary’s answers, you can watch the video below:
