Cue the outrage!
Donald Trump attended the 29th annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally to show his support for veterans on Memorial Day weekend.
While speaking in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, Trump joked that he thought his widely publicized speech would be similar to Martin Luther King Jr’s famous ‘I have a dream’ speech.
“I thought this would be like Doctor Martin Luther King, where the people would be lined up from here all the way to the Washington Monument,” Trump said. “Unfortunately, they don’t allow them to come in. You’ve got all these people on the roads and they’re all waving and going crazy. We got to do this for next year where Rolling Thunder allows everybody to be here.”

Of course, like with all of Trump’s statements, the comment caused controversy mostly among liberals, who immediately took to Twitter to trash the GOP nominee.

Donald Trump thinking that his speech would have a MLK effect is as absurd as Jimmy Carter thinking he could defeat Ronald Reagan.
