Amber Heard, the estranged wife of Johnny Depp, claimed the actor physically abused her and that she had a picture to prove  it.
But police who arrived to the couple’s apartment last Saturday night found no evidence of injuries consistent with domestic violence, TMZ reported.
Still on Friday the actress applied for, and received, a restraining order that ordered Depp to stay 100 yards away from her.
Sources close to Depp have called the allegations of domestic abuse “an affront to real victims of domestic violence,” according to TMZ.
The picture, which was obtained by the celebrity news site, showed bruising around Heard’s eye that, according to her, was caused by Depp smashing an iPhone into her face Saturday night.
Heard claimed she was on the phone with a friend while Depp was smashing objects in their home.
When the actor grabbed her phone she yelled “Call the cops!” and her friend obliged.
But the police said they saw no bruises when they arrived to the home and Heard refused to file a report to have Depp arrested, TMZ reported.
Depp’s people refuted the claims of abuse and noted an Instagram picture that Heard posted the day after the incident, which has since been deleted, that showed no bruises on the actress.
The judge on Friday granted Heard the right to stay in the family’s home but rejected her request for $50,000 a month in spousal support.
