Gov. Pat McCrory has claimed partial victory over the White House over the transgender bathroom issue.

The North Carolina governor posted to his Facebook page that the federal government will not be pulling funds from the state over its law to keep men out of women’s bathrooms.

“The White House just announced that it won’t pull federal funding to North Carolina while we take them to court. Sometimes the only way to stop a bully is to stand your ground and stare them down,” McCrory wrote.

The post came after North Carolina and the federal government filed dueling lawsuits against each other over the issue.

Many on social media cheered the news.
