Hannity blasts ‘mad’ Cruz: ‘Why do you do this? . . . You gotta stop!’

Sean Hannity got into a heated discussion with Republican presidential candidate Texas Sen. Ted Cruz over the nature of the GOP delegate allocation process.

During Hannity’s syndicated radio show Tuesday, the host asked Cruz to clarify the “confusing” delegate system which the first-term senator was able to take advantage of in states including North Dakota and Colorado that pick their delegates through state conventions, rather than the traditional primary or caucus.

Cruz dismissed it as something “only the hardcore Donald Trump supporters care about,” and asserted the Trump campaign was “whining.”

“Senator, why do you do this? Every single time — no, you gotta stop!” Hannity shot back. “Every time I have you on the air and I ask you a legitimate question, you try to throw this in my face, I’m getting sick of it!”

“I cannot help that the Donald Trump campaign is incapable of running a lemonade stand,” Cruz answered before continuing.

“Elections are won by voters and grassroots activists going up and voting for the candidate they support, and we are winning election, after election, election and nobody — as I’m traveling the country — nobody is asking me [about the delegate system] expect for the Trumpsters and people repeating it. If you lose, don’t cry about it, go back and learn how to win an election.”

Unsatisfied, Hannity asserted that it the matter was serious and, “it’s a simple question, it’s not a Trump question.”

“Senator, I don’t know why you’re mad,” Hannity said. “I’m trying to understand it — I’m literally having a hard time understanding why you’re getting angry at this.”

Cruz contended he wasn’t mad, but that Trump was “distracting from the real issues.”

The Texas senator was soundly defeated in the New York primary Tuesday, with Trump taking over 60 percent of the vote, Ohio Gov. John Kasich taking 25 percent and Cruz only garnering 14.5 percent.
