Tuesday’s New York Post cover says it all: The New York primary could be Hillary Clinton’s race of her life.

The tabloid’s cover says:

feel-the-bern-ny-post

One would think it should be an easy win for the former secretary of state. After all, New York is Clinton’s adopted home state and she represented New Yorkers for eight years in the U.S. Senate, from 2001 to 2009.

But with his Wyoming win Saturday, her rival Sen. Bernie Sanders has captured seven of the last eight state races.

Add to that the blood Sanders drew at the last debate, billed as “the Brooklyn Brawl.”

Factor in also that Sanders drew a record crowd of over 28,000 at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Sunday.

Put them all together and Clinton has reason to worry.

In fact, the Clinton campaign is downplaying the primary as not a big deal.

“I think the margin will be a little tighter than people expect,” campaign spokesman Brian Fallon told CNN on Monday, The Post reported.

Overall, New Yorkers loved the cover.

That last reference was in recognition to Clinton’s remark during a radio interview that she always carries a bottle of hot sauce in her purse. When someone observed that it could have been taken as pandering to blacks, she asked, “Did it work?”

We’ll find out when all the votes are counted.
