While not quite reciting a pledge, a crowd gathered at a Hillary Clinton campaign event was asked to say they stand with the Democratic presidential front-runner, followed by a plea for a little enthusiasm.
Clinton was in Wisconsin on Tuesday and Democratic state Sen. Jennifer Shilling was addressing the crowd.
“I am proud to say, without hesitation, I’m with her,” she said of Clinton, who was standing next to her.
“Can we all say that together on the count of three with an enthusiasm?” Shilling added. “One, two, three” … and the audience repeated, “I’m with her.”
“All right, I can feel it, I can feel it,” the satisfied lawmaker then said.
The incident is eerily similar to former Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s pitiful plea to coax supporters to clap at one of his events.
