A Florida man has been charged with grand theft auto for stealing a $60,000 BMW after trying to buy it with food stamps.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported on Facebook that Nicholas Jackson was arrested for stealing the car along with the keys to 60 other vehicles from a Pompano Beach dealership. The dealership had turned him away a day earlier when he tried to purchase the car using a credit card and his Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
Jackson had no money to fill up the tank and was apprehended after the car ran out of gas
