Actor Scott Baio has a lot of nice things to say about Donald Trump, but he didn’t stop there.
The conservative actor told Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro on Saturday that he is supporting Donald Trump because of his tough talk and straightforwardness.
“He speaks like I speak, he communicates with people very well. I want him, as any one person can do, to go into Washington and blow it up,” the “Charles In Charge” and “Happy Days” actor said.
Baio also believes Trump is the one who can take the inevitable media pounding that comes with being the Republican nominee and come out swinging.
“They’re going to attack whomever the Republican nominee is,” he told Pirro, “and we need somebody to relentlessly, relentlessly attack Hillary. It’s the only way we’re going to win. I’m trying to be a classy guy, but to win elections nowadays, the Democrats and liberals attack viciously.”
Baio, who campaigned for President Reagan, talked about much more than why he believes in Trump.
He pointed out some major differences between conservatives and liberals.
“Conservatives want you to live your life, liberals want you to live their life,” he aptly pointed out.
Proving his point he noted how many conservatives, while sharing similar values, have different ideas on how to achieve their goals.
“That’s why we have 17 people trying to beat each other up and they have just her basically,” he said. “If there’s a D next to the name it’s just lock step stuff.”
He joins a growing list of celebrities backing Trump. Some publicly like “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson and Stephen Baldwin.
Others support him in the shadows for fear of what their Hollywood friends would think.
But Baio doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
“My country comes first,” he said.
