With a showdown looming over the appointment of a Supreme Court judge, Senate Republicans are vowing to block President Obama’s nominee.
The president’s pick of Judge Merrick Garland has some GOP senators promising to meet with a federal appeals judge if push comes to shove. Fox News’ Charles Krauthammer said that would only be a matter of courtesy and show.
“Republicans are not going to cave” on holding a confirmation hearing, Krauthammer said on “Special Report” Thursday. “They’re absolutely right to stonewall.”
“This is a festival of hypocrisy. The whole idea is to end up with the guy you want,” said Krauthammer. He reiterated that the nomination is nothing more than Democrats trying to make a “political point.”
