There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after Oakland University guard Max Hooper went into the stands following his team’s win on “Senior Night” to give his ill father a hug.
Chip Hooper is battling neuroendocrine cancer and suffered a stroke in October, according to The Big Lead.

The younger Hooper is well-known for only attempting three-pointers during games this year — he’s hit on 98 of 221 long-range bombs, according to TBL.
In an interview earlier this month, Hooper talked about his father being able to watch him play in the game.
“I have no idea if my dad can make it, but if you know my dad, he will probably be here somehow or someway,” Hooper told CBS’ Doug Gottlieb. “If not, I dream of him watching me in the NCAA Tournament. Kay Felder [Oakland’s star point guard] finding me for an open look and my dad watching me in The Big Dance. This is our journey.”
And his father did indeed find a way:

The reaction on social media proved just how emotional the moment was and how it really “puts life in perspective,” as one user said.
