Did Team Hillary really think this one through?
Hillary Clinton announced Friday that the campaign has hired political analyst Zerlina Maxwell for its digital outreach team. A Clinton aide told BuzzFeed that Maxwell will be focused on feminism, gender inequality and on “coalitions generally, including African-American and women.”
Maxwell is perhaps best known for saying that “as a matter of default,” those who cry rape should be believed. A stance she took in a 2014 Washington Post op-ed she wrote on the Rolling Stone report about a rape victim at the University of Virginia that proved to be a hoax.
“No matter what Jackie said, we should generally believe rape claims,” Maxwell wrote.
All of which brings to mind Juanita Broaddrick, who has accused Hillary’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, of raping her.
Will Maxwell now amend her statement that we should believe what an accuser says to include… “unless the accusation is directed at the person signing my paycheck?”
The hypocrisy, and pandering, proved to be too much for some social media users. Here’s a sampling of reactions to Friday’s announcement from Twitter:

@ZerlinaMaxwell Do you believe Bill Clinton raped Juanita Broaddrick? Shouldn’t we as a “default” believe Ms. Broaddick and stand with her?
