The University of Missouri professor caught on video scrapping with a journalist now finds herself in some hot legal water.
She was charged with third-degree assault Monday morning, according to local ABC 17 News.
A summons was mailed to assistant professor of communications Melissa Click, with a court date to be determined later.
The video of the November 9 scuffle between Click and videographer Mark Schierbecker depicts the professor trying to block the journalist from recording protesters being held in an outdoor public area.
“No, you need to get out,” she said at about the 6:20 mark. “You need to get out. You need to get out.”
When he replied that he didn’t have to leave, Click shouts to other protesters, “Who wants to help me get this reporter out of here? I need some muscle over here.”
