Beck’s ultimate flip-off to Trump leaves Ted Cruz speechless

A rare feat, indeed — both the endorsement and the loss for words.

Upon receiving the impassioned support of conservative firebrand Glenn Beck, Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz was left speechless.

Warning an Ankeny, Iowa, crowd that if Donald Trump wins, “it’s going to be a snowball to hell,” Beck moved to counter the real estate tycoon’s endorsement by Sarah Palin by announcing his endorsement of Cruz — his first official endorsement of a presidential candidate.

(Not quite the tone Beck struck recently when he was forced to apologize to Trump over a fake tweet.)

“I am here to announce that I am endorsing Senator Ted Cruz as the next President of the United States!” Beck told those gathered at a Cruz campaign rally.

“Wow. Can you tell that I’m speechless?” the candidate told the crowd afterwards.

The media personality said Cruz will “re-point the cornerstones” in Washington, and gave the senator a compass that once belonged to George Washington.

“I’d like you to hold onto that to make sure your compass is square and you stay true [to your values],” he said while handing Cruz the compass.

Beck caught the wrath of Trump last week, when the Republican front-runner called him a “dopey guy,” so it remains to be seen how Trump responds to Saturday’s slight.

There was lots of support on social media for Beck’s action, though a Trump supporter cautioned about the aforementioned wrath in a meme that said: “Payback’s a B*tch.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses:
