A Mississippi councilman has called for black leaders to physically attack police who enter into his city’s jurisdiction from other towns.
Kenneth Stokes would apparently rather have criminals in his town than law enforcement and has called for “black leadership” to gather with him and pelt officers with various objects.
“What I suggest is we get the black leadership together, and as these jurisdictions come into Jackson we throw rocks and bricks and bottles at them. That will send a message we don’t want you in here,” the wannabe thug councilman told WLBT.
Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker fired back at Stokes through Facebook.
Law enforcement will not be intimidated by you, he wrote on Facebook adding that he intends to contact the state’s attorney general to see if Stokes’ comments equate to assaults on police by threat.

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant blasted the remarks as “reprehensible” and vowed to also check with the attorney general to see if Stokes’ remarks are criminal.
“Mr. Stokes’ remarks are reprehensible, particularly with the attacks we have seen against our men and women in law enforcement. I condemn any such remarks in the strongest possible manner. This is nothing short of an outright assault upon all who wear the badge. I will be asking Attorney General Jim Hood to investigate whether Mr. Stokes’ remarks represent criminal threats against law enforcement officers,” he wrote in a statement.
