Carrie Fisher had a strong message Tuesday for anyone too quick with empty compliments.
“Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well,” the 59-year-old actress tweeted. “Unfortunately it hurts all three of my feelings.”
“My body hasn’t aged as well as I have,” she said in the tweet. “Blow us.”

Reprising her role as Princess Leia in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Fisher told Good Housekeeping U.K. that she was pressured to lose 35 pounds.
“They don’t want to hire all of me – only about three-quarters!” she said. “Nothing changes: it’s an appearance-driven thing. I’m in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance. That is so messed up. They might as well say get younger, because that’s how easy it is.”
Fisher called out those who are obsessed with appearance, especially in Los Angeles.
“We treat beauty like an accomplishment, and that is insane,” she said. “Everyone in LA says, “Oh you look good,” and you listen for them to say you’ve lost weight. It’s never “How are you?” or “You seem happy!”’
Fisher’s tweet was met with resounding support from an interesting assortment of social media users.

@carrieffisher You looked fantastic. My only complaint was I wanted MORE screen time for you. You’ve still got it.

@carrieffisher Age is but a number. I just get miffed that my body is 68 and my brain is 19.

@carrieffisher Who cares? It’s your body, it’s not necessary for anyone else to comment on it. Love the skin you’re in, sis!

@aubreeyyyy @carrieffisher I was about to say the same thing! I absolutely hate how women are criticized more than men for everything!

@carrieffisher have these dudes who insult you looked in the mirror recently? Keep calling them out – they deserve to be outed

And finally, one person summed it all up with this tweet:
@carrieffisher There’s nothing to debate. You have not aged. Goddesses never do.
