‘Blow us’: Feisty Carrie Fisher calls out body-shamers on Twitter

Carrie Fisher had a strong message Tuesday for anyone too quick with empty compliments.

“Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well,” the 59-year-old actress tweeted. “Unfortunately it hurts all three of my feelings.”

“My body hasn’t aged as well as I have,” she said in the tweet. “Blow us.”

Reprising her role as Princess Leia in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Fisher told Good Housekeeping U.K. that she was pressured to lose 35 pounds.

“They don’t want to hire all of me – only about three-quarters!” she said.  “Nothing changes: it’s an appearance-driven thing. I’m in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance. That is so messed up. They might as well say get younger, because that’s how easy it is.”

Fisher called out those who are obsessed with appearance, especially in Los Angeles.

“We treat beauty like an accomplishment, and that is insane,” she said. “Everyone in LA says, “Oh you look good,” and you listen for them to say you’ve lost weight. It’s never “How are you?” or “You seem happy!”’

Fisher’s tweet was met with resounding support from an interesting assortment of social media users.

And finally, one person summed it all up with this tweet:
