Obama ‘feels small’ compared to US Marines – ‘willing to die vs. eager to lie’

President Obama, in the midst of his annual 16-day vacation in Hawaii, joked Friday about working out at the Marine Corps Base gym in a Christmas message to U.S. troops.

Describing the experience as a “problem,” Obama said it made him “feel small,” according to The Hill.

“The only problem I’ve got when I’m here is having to work out with Marines in the gym,” the president said. “Because I generally feel like your commander-in-chief is in pretty good shape, and then I get next to some guy curling 100 pounds and it makes me feel small.”

“But that’s okay. It gives me some inspiration,” he added. “I’m going to work harder so I can keep up with you next year, all right?”

If he plans on keeping pace with the U.S. Marines, perhaps he should first realize that when fighting our nation’s battles, they are in to “win.”

Obama’s comments unleashed a wave of snark on social media, with one user noting: “Self-awareness. Finally.” Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter.
