Likely Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was presented with a golden opportunity Wednesday to do what she is very adept at — play the victim.
Though not everyone, including Donald Trump, was buying what she was selling.
Of course, we’re first to believe that Team Hillary, as well scripted as the campaign has been, allowed a fifth grader from Iowa to stand up at a campaign rally and hit Clinton with a truly random question. On camera.
“What are you going to do about bullying?” 10-year-old Hannah Tandy asked.
A “concerned” Clinton responded by probing deeper, asking the child why this issue was on her mind.
“I have asthma and occasionally I hear people talking behind my back,” the fifth-grader replied.

With a sympathetic audience now fully on board, Clinton moved to seal the deal of framing Trump as a bully.
“You are looking at somebody who’s had a lot of terrible things said about me and I am well aware of the fact that it’s really easy to do that,” Clinton said.
“I really do think we need more love and kindness in our country,” the candidate added. “That’s why it’s important to stand up to bullies wherever we are, and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency, because that is not who we are as Americans.”
This coming days after all the ginned up controversy over Trump using the term “schlonged” to describe Clinton’s 2008 Democratic primary loss to Barack Obama.
Tandy was rewarded with a hug for her troubles.
But Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, took to social media to express a healthy dose of skepticism, saying the incident was “staged” and cautioning Clinton about playing the victim:
The Hillary Clinton staged event yesterday was pathetic. Be careful Hillary as you play the war on women or women being degraded card.

Hannah’s mother then hit back, saying the event was not staged and warning the candidate not to say anything about her daughter.
“I don’t want to get in a big match-up with Donald Trump, but let me tell you, I will be in one if he makes comments about my daughter,” Lexie Tandy said, according to The Des Moines Register. “She’s 10. She’s just a little girl.”
Nevertheless, social media users were equally skeptical, with the overriding theme being if anyone would know a bully it would be Hillary Clinton. Here’s a sampling of responses to the production from Twitter:
@CNN @HillaryClinton What better way to ask about bullying than to ask a #bully?
