Trump’s revenge! Miss Universe Pageant takes cheap shot at ex-owner on live TV, then THIS happens!

Was “The Curse of Donald Trump” behind the colossal mistake at Sunday evenings Miss Universe pageant — one of the most awkward situations in television history?

Host Steve Harvey took the stage at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino and announced the wrong winner, naming Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo when it was actually Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

Earlier in the evening, celebrity judge Perez Hilton ridiculed Trump when naming differences between the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageants, saying the Republican presidential front-runner “thankfully no longer owns this pageant.”

(Trump sold the Miss Universe organization to WME/IMG in September.)

The camera cuts to Harvey, who is seen laughing uproariously, which prompted Newsbusters to wonder if this triggered the alleged “curse.”

Harvey would go on to make the most embarrassing gaffe of his otherwise impressive career, for which he will never live down.

All which goes to show that mocking Donald Trump on national TV could very well result in a jinx of dire misfortune. Or not.

The real estate tycoon really wasn’t vengeful at all when he took to social media afterwards to express regret over the screw up, saying it was “very sad. He added that it would “never have happened” were he still in charge of the pageant.
