Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler made a “triumphant” return to Saturday Night Live, portraying the Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton characters for which they’re renowned for.
Poehler plays the Ghost of Hillary 2008, who visits modern day Hillary Clinton, played by Kate McKinnon, to warn her about being too cocky, reminding her how “someone named Barack Obama stumbled out of a soup kitchen with a basketball and a cigarette and stole my life.”
But Hillary 2015 reassured her things are different this time around and that her Democratic opponent, “Bernie ‘Never Heard of Him’ Sanders,” is no Barack Obama.
“Mama’s got this presidency in the bag,” she said.
Hillary 2015 then told the Ghost of Hillary Past that Donald Trump is her Republican opponent and they break into celebration.
“Oh my god, we’re going to be president!” Hillary 2008 shouts.
It is at this point that Fey arrives on the scene to put a damper of the merriment, seeming there just to reprise the ditsy image of Palin that contributed so heavily to the character assassination of the former governor of Alaska — an image for which Fey was elevated to goddess-like status by the left.
The Ghost of Palin 2008 proceeded to offer Hillary nonsensical advice on running for president and told her if it gets too difficult to “just quit.”
If we could only be so lucky.
