He’s mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore.
A Texas plumber traded in his Ford F-250 pickup truck emblazoned with his business name and phone number on the side and it ended up in the hands of Islamic State terrorists in Syria who placed an anti-aircraft gun in its bed.
And one thing that remains is the name and phone number of Mark Oberholtzer‘s business: Mark-1 Plumbing.
A photo of that truck got tweeted last year, and since then the phone hasn’t stopped ringing — and they’re not service calls. So he’s suing the dealer that took the truck in trade.

“They were calling us ‘terrorists’ or ‘traitors,’ [threatening], ‘We’re going to come down there and do this.’ We had numerous death threats,” Oberholtze told The New York Post.
The Post reported:
In December 2013, Oberholtzer’s son went to AutoNation Ford Golf Freeway in Houston to trade in the 2005 truck for the 2012 model.
As he began peeling the company decals off the door, the salesman told him that it ruins the paint and to “let them handle it,” claims the lawsuit, filed Wednesday against AutoNation.
So much for trusting used car salesmen.
The next thing he knew he was taking some time off hunting in South Texas when he got a call from his secretary wondering why reporters were asking why his truck was being driven by terrorists.
Here’s a news report from then via Military.com.
That was a year ago — and the calls still come.
Oberholtze has been visited by the Department of Homeland Security and has been told by an FBI agent told him to “protect himself.”
“Yesterday I ran into a guy I used to work with, for the first time in five years. ‘Sell any trucks to Syria lately?’ he asked. Everybody thinks it’s funny, but it’s not,” he said.
So he filed a lawsuit against the dealer, who allowed the truck to eventually end up with a company in Turkey.
Here’s the lawsuit, via The Dallas Morning News.
