What happened to the days when you could count on a chubby, loudmouth, left-wing filmmaker to be a champion of free speech?
Alas, in today’s liberal philosophy, the majority of those that say the most obnoxious things want the speech of others quelled.
Leftist director, and world class windbag, Michael Moore made an appeal to his Facebook followers Wednesday to report Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump‘s Facebook page for violation of the company’s terms of service prohibiting hate speech.
“Facebook prohibits all its users from using hate speech on its site (“You will not post content that is hate speech”). I’m joining others today in filing a complaint with Facebook that Trump’s Facebook page is using hate speech to promote racism and bigotry. Please file your complaint, too,” he wrote before giving instructions on how to do it.
The New York Daily News reported Thursday however, that Trump’s page is protected under Facebook guidelines.
Facebook’s policy does highlight that any hate speech content attacking people on their race, ethnicity, religious affiliation or national origin will be removed. However, Trump’s posts could potentially be protected by another rule under Facebook’s community standards: “Facebook can be used to challenge ideas, institutions, and practices. Such discussion can promote debate and greater understanding.
This is just the latest in Moore’s obsession with trump that can be seen on all of his social media platforms.
