Killer’s brother-in-law speaks at ‘weird, weird, weird’ CAIR presser following massacre

Shortly after two suspects of Wednesday’s deadly shooting at the Christmas party held at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino were identified, the Council on American-Islamic Relations held a press conference.

Times of London’s Toby Harnden called the presser ‘weird, weird, weird’ in a series of tweets. Maybe that’s because of the abundance of caution authorities have taken to downplay the fact that the suspected murderers appear to be terrorists.

Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, described as a devout Muslim, and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, 27, were both shot and killed during a shootout with police.

After the names were released, the national CAIR office tweeted:

In what may be described as effort at damage control — especially after the November 13 Paris massacre by Islamic extremists — CAIR’s regional director then released this statement, according to The Press-Enterprise. “We condemn this horrific and revolting attack and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured,” said CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush. “The Muslim community stands shoulder to shoulder with our fellow Americans in repudiating any twisted mindset that would claim to justify such sickening acts of violence.” Farhan Khan, Farook’s brother-in-law, spoke at a press conference held at CAIR’s regional offices in Anaheim.

People saw it for what it was, though, and weren’t necessarily impressed, including the Times of London’s Toby Harnden, who tweeted:

When someone asked why, he explained:

He added:

Another example of political correctness gone amok?
