Sadie Robertson, a starring member of the “Duck Dynasty” clan, unveiled a new tattoo to the world last week via Instagram.
The fresh ink, which was “daddy approved,” is on her left arm and entails a single word: “FEARLESS,” according to The Blaze.
Robertson, 18, the daughter of Willie Robertson, said she gets it that tattoos “are not for everyone,” before offering an inspirational story explaining why she got one.
“For every summer camp I went to throughout my life I wrote down the word ‘anxiety’ for my biggest struggle,” she wrote. “Fear began to consume me. This year, I made a turn around when I went to my Lord and savior who has conquered all fears.”
Robertson attended Winter Jam earlier this year and it was during the Christian event that she said she let go of the fear in her life and gained “a new confidence [and] courage.”
“I had people come up to me and tell me these words: ‘Sadie you are fearless,’ which was something so new to hear, considering I am the one who has always struggled with FEAR!” she said. “I decided, ‘That’s enough. I am a fearless child of God. I will not fear, because I serve the God who has conquered all fear.’”
And the tattoo serves as an important reminder of that relationship.
“I’m proud to permanently have a reminder that I have nothing to fear,” she said. “I am fearless in the name of Jesus.”
