May the force be with you should you decide to unload on Star Wars fanatics.
That’s a reality Fox News contributor Katherine Timpf learned the hard way after receiving death threats for dissing on fans of the iconic movie last month on “Red Eye,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I have never had any interest in watching space nerds poke each other with their little space nerd sticks, and I’m not going to start now,” she said as a panel discussed the new Star Wars movie, “The Force Awakens.”
And Timpf didn’t stop there.
“You people are crazy. You Star Wars people are crazy,” she added. “Yesterday I tweeted something, and all I said was that I wasn’t familiar with Star Wars because I’ve been too busy liking cool things and being attractive — people threatened my life.”
While Timpf said this with some degree of levity, it’s clear the abuse has struck a nerve with the National Review writer.
“A lot of people are clearly a lot of upset,” she wrote in a piece published on Tuesday. “But guess what? I’m not apologizing.”
“Why? Because the all-too-common knee-jerk reaction of apologizing for harmless jokes after overblown hysteria is ruining our culture,” she said. “This political-correctness obsession threatens free speech, and I absolutely refuse to be a part of it.”

Timpf, who said her comments “were clearly jokes,” made it clear she would not kowtow to those who’ve lost sight over the fact that the space opera Star Wars is just a movie.
“Obviously, the totally insane whackjobs who have been attacking me don’t represent most Star Wars fans,” she penned. “But the fact that so many adults have responded with so much unhinged emotion astounds me.”
Showing a lot of courage, Timpf included some of the vile threats she has received. She also posted one such threat on social media, as shared by The Hollywood Reporter:
