The Islamic terrorists who stormed a Balian luxury hotel shouting “Allahu Akbar!” could have easily found out Americans were inside, thanks to the Obama administration.
When the militants overwhelmed the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali’s capital of Bamako Friday, they initially killed at least three people, and released a very limited number of others who could recite a verse from the Quran.
Shortly after the attack commenced, John Kirby, spokesman for the U.S. State Department, tweeted:
We are aware U.S. citizens might be present Radisson Hotel in Bamako, #Mali. @USEmbassyMali working to verify this information #MaliAttacks

The backlash was immediate. It seemed as though ordinary Americans were aware of something that neither President Barack Obama nor Secretary of State John Kerry knew — don’t tell terrorists that Americans are within their grasp. We’re considered the “Great Satan” to Islamists, remember?
Here are but a few of the responses Kirby received.
.@statedeptspox Wow! What an incredible #moron you are for letting the terrorists know that they have potential American victims. — Mark Langford (@marklangford) November 20, 2015
@statedeptspox how many Americans do you want killed? My God, what is wrong with you?! — kim wilkinson (@mikwilki) November 20, 2015
@statedeptspox @USEmbassyMali Why not give them the names and room numbers?

.@statedeptspox .@USEmbassyMali Wow. Thanks for putting that out there. #JVteam #strategyAbsent — AmberConservative (@AmberGirl3) November 20, 2015
@statedeptspox @StateDept @USEmbassyMali @JohnKerry not a good idea to advertise that fact if they are hiding. They would be prime targets. — Philip Low (@PhilipStevenLow) November 20, 2015
@statedeptspox @margbrennan @USEmbassyMali Just another setback. @POTUS will throw another hissy fit & cry about republicans. rinse, repeat — Digit’s Dad (@DigitTruth) November 20, 2015
And just in case the militants didn’t get the message, the U.S. Embassy reiterated the fact that Americans were among the hostages.
The Associated Press reported:
The U.S. Embassy in Mali asked citizens to shelter in place amid reports of an “ongoing active shooter operation” at the hotel in Bamako. People in the area ran for their lives along a dirt road as a soldier in full combat gear them to safety.
According to The Daily Mail, the siege is now over, leaving at least 27 dead and all 22 U.S. nationals rescued, unharmed.
But it could have been much worse, thanks to the amateurs in the White House.
UPDATE: The U.S. State Department now says that oner of the victims in the terrorist attack was an American citizen.
