Eight Syrian illegal aliens attempted to enter Texas from Mexico, agents say

Amid heightened concerns about Islamic extremists mixing in with Syrian refugees relocating to the United States, eight Syrians have reportedly attempted to enter Texas from Mexico this week.

Two federal agents, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Breitbart News that the Syrians were apprehended on Monday in two separate “family units.”

Breitbart reported:

Two federal agents operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection are claiming that eight Syrian illegal aliens attempted to enter Texas from Mexico in the Laredo Sector. The federal agents spoke with Breitbart Texas on the condition of anonymity, however, a local president of the National Border Patrol Council confirmed that Laredo Border Patrol agents have been officially contacting the organization with concerns over reports from other federal agents about Syrians illegally entering the country in the Laredo Sector.

National Border Patrol Council Local 2455 President Hector Garza, a border patrol agent himself, said the agency was contacted about reports of Syrians crossing the southern border.

“Border Patrol agents who we represent have been contacting our organization to voice concerns about reports from other agents that Syrians crossed the U.S. border from Mexico in the Laredo Sector,” Garza told Breitbart Texas.

“Our agents have heard about Syrians being apprehended in the area from other federal agents,” he said. “At this time, I cannot confirm or deny that Syrians have crossed, for security reasons.”

Garza noted that because of the sensitive nature of Syrians crossing the border, federal agencies are not likely to publicize such an occurrence.

He added that Local 2455 is taking the reports seriously and the union “will be issuing an officer safety bulletin advising Border Patrol agents to exercise extra precautions as they patrol the border.”

Muslim’s video message to ISIS goes viral: ‘If you
don’t like this country, why the f**k do you come?’

If true, this week’s incident would not be the first time someone from Syria was caught trying to enter the country, Breitbart Texas reported. A Syrian woman using a passport that belonged to someone else was apprehended in September, although authorities opted not to prosecute her.

The woman’s brother-in-law is a U.S. citizen and the U.S Attorney’s Office filed a motion, “in the interest of justice,” to dismiss all charges “with prejudice.”
