The Islamic State has issued a threat to America, specifically Washington D.C., in a new video released in the after math of the Paris terrorist attacks that left 129 dead Friday.
Reuters reported Monday that a man who called himself Al Ghareeb the Algerian said in the new video the U.S. capital would suffer the same fate as the French capital.
The video, produced by a subgroup in Northern Iraq that called itself Wilayat Kirkuk, also threatened all nations involved in the ongoing airstrikes against ISIS.
“We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington,” Al Ghareeb said according to a translation by Reuters.
“I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before,” he continued.
In a reference to the international talks on ideas to end the war in Syria another man in the video, Al Karrar the Iraqi, spoke directly to French President Francois Hollande.
“We have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels,” he said.
The authenticity of the video has not yet been verified.
